A Harborough hairdresser is getting ready to reopen her salon with a new addition - an sparkling award.

After what has been a tough 12 months for hairdressers, Lucy Manttan said she was stunned to be given an award at the recent British Hair and Beauty Awards (HBA).

Lucy was shortlisted ahead of thousands of applicants for three awards at the British Hair and Beauty Awards - but although she missed out on these three, she did receive a HBA Choice Award.

"I feel so grateful getting this award," she said.

"We watched the awards online this year and I couldn't actually believe it when they read out my name as I wasn't expecting anything.

"It's the first competition I've entered so to receive the HBA Choice Award this time is just amazing and I cant wait to get back in the salon to all my lovely clients."

Lucy has been working as a hairdresser on and off since she left Robert Smyth School and has been working at Wainwrights for about three years.
