A YEAR of hard work and long-standing service was celebrated at the Harborough ATC 1084 Squadron’s Dining In night.

Flt Lt Valerie Smith was attending her last such event prior to her retiring as commanding officer later this year.

The night took the traditional form of an RAF Dining In evening where Cdt Flt Sgt Tom Barwick conducted proceedings as president and the newest cadet, Jack March, was Mr Vice and proposed the loyal toast.

Awards at the event were won by Steph Bidwell, Danny Tomlinson, Tom Skinner, Pippa Ball, Callum Dilley, Jessica Molyneux, Zac Burningham, Dylan Mathieson-Dodd, Daisy Dear and Liam Wale.

The guest of honour at the event last Friday was Air Commodore Dawn McCafferty, who made a toast to the success of the squadron.
