MORE than £1,100 collected by a group of Lutterworth fundraisers, who sold tickets to win a trolley dash in the town, has been handed over to a charity which helps people with MS.
The pre-Christmas trolley dash event, held at the town’s Waitrose store, was organised by the Rotary Club of Lutterworth Wycliffe to help raise money for the south Leicestershire branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
The money, £1,105 in all, was given to Roy Mitchell, chairman of the branch, at the Greyhound Coaching Inn this week.
He said: “The Society offers practical help and counselling to sufferers of this debilitating disease in our area. The generosity of people who contributed to the event is really appreciated.”
