Homes decision is under review
COUNCILLORS have called for a review of a decision to grant planning permission for homes in Kibworth.
The application by Self Unlimited to build 13 houses and nine flats in the back gardens of existing homes in the village was approved by Harborough District Council’s planning committee on Tuesday last week.
But five members – councillors Phil King, Chris Holyoak, Lynne Beesley-Reynolds, Rich Tomlin and Amanda Burrell – have asked for the decision to be looked at again by full council.
They claim it is a ‘garden grabbing scheme’ and have also raised concerns over traffic and parking, its density and design in a conservation area and the impact on nearby listed buildings and residents.
Under council rules, planning decisions can be called in for further review under a five-member motion.
It will be referred to the meeting of full council on February 23.
