LATEST READERS' PHOTOS

THE NATURAL world continues to be an inspiration for readers as they submit their top photos to the Mail.

The photos in the gallery (right) have been emailed between late May and July.

A new website section has been created to let people navigate the more recent submissions more easily.

Roger Pollard took a stunning photo last Saturday at Bradgate Park of one of the deer.

Jan Rudge, of Logan Crescent, snapped a hummingbird moth on the busy lizzies in her garden this week.

She said: "It is a visitor from the continent I believe and not often seen in Market Harborough. They are more abundant in the Southern Counties."

Jasmine Tarrant took these photos of a 'twister' in the sky above one of the sessions at the Fernie Pony Club summer camp last week at Rolleston Park. It also shows Tilly Toone riding Little Miss.

And binman Carl Holderness also snapped a 'twister' in the skies above Harborough last Thursday (July 22) during his bin round.

Wind funnels only become "twisters" when they touch the ground.

Andrew Clarke, of Davies Close, Harborough, sent us two breathtaking photos of sunsets from his balcony in town.

Alistair Singer sent us a black-and-white dramatic photo of a wind-swept barn in Foxton.

He said: "I took this shot while out mountainbiking on the canal towpath towards Foxton. It's a lovely old barn and from this angle, you can see how wind-blown the location is. I think the black and white look gives it real depth too."

Mr Singer also has his own photography website at www.photolight.co.uk.

Anna and Carl Sagaona, of Desborough, kindly sent us a picture of what they believe to a stunning Hawk-Moth in their garden.

Anna said in an email: "How handsome is this latest visitor to our garden??!!!

"A laothoe populi (Poplar Hawk-Moth) we think. The Hawk-Moth spent the weekend resting in our garden before saying his goodbyes with an aerial acrobatic flourish overhead, and his beating wings making the sound of what can best be described as that of a 'mini-helicopter'!"
