Laughter is the best medicine at new club

Laughter is helping visitors to a new Harborough group find exercise and relaxation.

The Laughter Club, every Tuesday morning at The St John Ambulance Station in Abbey Street, teaches Laughter Yoga.

The technique sees participants stand or sit in a circle, laughing while maintaining eye contact with others.

In most cases, says instructor Debbie Appleby, this leads to real and contagious guffaws.

Gentle warm-up exercises including stretching and clapping get people ready for the laughter and it finishes with guided relaxation.

Sessions, which run from 9.30am to 10.15am, cost £3, but the first is free.
