Astounded to read about plans to consult over building name change

I was astounded to read that the council has retained consultants to help with a consultation to find a new name for the council headquarters.

I have lived in the town for 25 years and was not aware that the building already had a name so what relevance is a new
name?

The council does not need help with running a consultation exercise; they have considerable experience among residents who they can ask for options.

When the majority opt for a different one that the council leader has already decided upon they can then ignore the public’s wishes and finally sack any councillor that dares to disagree.

I hope for the sake of his job that the deputy leader of the conservative group does not object when the building is renamed “Rook Towers”.
