Keep the river clean - dispose of your litter responsibly
IN response to the recent letters concerning the River Welland in Harborough, I would like to assure those concerned that the river is cleaned on a regular basis. This is done by a team from Self Unlimited.
They are paid from a sum of money secured through a joint bid by the Harborough Improvement Team Environment Group and Market Harborough in Bloom.
Stretches are cleared twice monthly, with an average of eight bags of rubbish removed each time.
It would be most helpful if everyone in our town became more aware of the need to dispose of their litter responsibly.
Respect for our river is paramount!
