No mention of Shopmobility

WE are here!

Here at Shopmobility Market Harborough, we read with interest the articles and letters regarding the intended relocation of the market to Fox’s Yard, where we are based.

As a consequence of the future plans, we have featured prominently in two recent editions of the second page of the Harborough Mail – what cost such fantastic publicity?

Yet we remain unmentioned.

Our location has been referred to as cold and soulless, unsuitable for anything other than the car park it is, but here we are adding our unique bit of colour to this part of town as we occupy the two portable buildings situated in the car park from where we provide a valued service to our members with mobility difficulties.

We are here by kind permission of the district council, and it is an ideal location for our scheme members who park, hire our equipment and visit the town.

We also hold a stall in the Market Hall on the last Tuesday of every month as a fundraising activity, so our interest is two-fold.

We will remain where we are until alternative plans, if necessary, are made, and will continue to offer our service to the local community with the hire of wheelchairs and scooters.

We would like to thank our valued scheme members for their continued support and look forward to welcoming new members.

Who knows, it might be quite fun based in the middle of a market!

Sharron Muggleton,

Scheme Co-ordinator,

Shopmobility Market Harborough.
