IN 1959, 72-year-old Harborough man Jack Watling sat in a hut atop a 25-ft metal pole for for five days and nights in a publicity stunt for a film which was being shown at Harborough’s Ritz Cinema - but what was the film?

Mr Watling neglects to mention it in this film on the The Media Archive for Central England’s (MACE) website.

The Mail’s archives from 1959 reveal the answer, which we’ll publish here on Thursday.
