A STUDENT is taking on a skydiving challenge to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

James Pulham (21) who attended Robert Smyth School and lives in Harborough decided to take on a skydiving challenge for the charity which is close to his heart.

He will do a skydive on May 2 and it will take place 22,000 feet above Nottinghamshire.

James who attends Loughborough University where he studies Economics said he chose to do the skydive as he wanted a bit of challenge that would be exciting.

Although this will be his first skydive James has previously been Para Sailing, where one is parachuted off the back of a boat.

He said: “I chose Cancer Research. It was really just a charity that I have experienced because of close family having cancer.

“I felt that I could relate to it and that it is one that lots of people can relate to.”

James has already raised £150 but he needs to raise £400 to reach his target.

Although his mum thinks that he is mad to be doing it he will be supported on the day by a friend from University, also doing a skydive for charity.

James said that he will be grateful for any donation, no matter what size and he has set up a justgiving page to encourage sponsorship.
