Supermarket staff are planning to be funny for money

Staff at a Harborough supermarket will spend a weekend being funny for money next month.

Workers at Sainsbury’s, in Springfield Street, are backing Comic Relief on March 15 with a variety of wacky events to raise money.

Activities planned include a hot dog eating competitionand a challenge to see how many T-shirts one person can wear.

Maltesers and spacehoppers challenges are also in the offing.

The store is urging other businesses in town to join in the challenges to raise money for Comic Relief.

Staff are also open to any suggestions for other ways to raise money for the cause.

Anyone with more information or who has a suggestion should contact Melanie Wisher at the store on 01858 461724 or email prl.marketharborough@sainsburys.co.uk.

Comic Relief merchandise, including the famous red noses, went on sale in the store yesterday (Wednesday).

If you are planning to do something funny for money for Comic Relief, contact the Mail on newsdesk@harboroughmail.co.uk.
