Santa’s much-loved sleigh set to tour Market Harborough over the next few weeks has been blown off course by the Covid-19 pandemic.

But Harborough, along with the rest of Leicestershire, has been put into the toughest coronavirus Tier 3 from Wednesday December 3.

And, sadly, that means Santa, who works alongside 3rd Market Harborough Scouts, will be forced to put his feet up and take it easy in Market Harborough for the first time in an astonishing 52 years.

You can still make an online donation to the cash-strapped scouts group on Santa’s Facebook page.

“We’d also be very grateful if anyone with pictures of the sleigh over the last 52 years could dig out any photos they have and send them to us on Facebook.

“We would love to try and make a digital sideshow or something to show for Christmas,” said Santa.
