Have we got an im-prov show for you

COMEDIAN Paul Merton will be entertaining an audience at Kilworth House Hotel's outdoor theatre for a two-date show which draws its material entirely from audience participation.

His gig – Impro Chums – revolves around audience suggestions and thus guaranteeing a different show each night.

Merton, a regular on BBC current affairs comedy show Have I Got News For You, will be joined on stage by chums Suki Webster, Richard Vranch, Steve Steen and Andy Smart.

They will be performing at the outdoor theatre, in North Kilworth, this Monday and Tuesday at 8pm.

Merton is just one of a number of acts who will be taking to the stage at the Kilworth venue during July as part of the venue's Live at Kilworth series.

The series opened last Monday with Abba tribute act Bjrn Again and continues this week.

The Manfreds, with original Manfred Mann members Paul Jones, Mike Hugg and Tom McGuinness, are singing on Saturday at 8pm.

Former Beautiful South members Dave Hemingway, Alison Wheeler and Davis Stead are performing tonight at 8pm (Thursday) under the new banner of The South.

A musical theatre concert featuring West End favourites by the group Beyond the Barricade is being staged tomorrow night (Friday) at 8pm.

Adam Watkiss, who won the ITV talent show This Is My Moment, will perform there on Thursday next week.

Watkiss has performed at Kilworth twice before and sung for the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance in 2001. He will be donating all proceeds from his performance to the East Midlands Air Ambulance.

Other acts set to perform as part of the series include The Hollies, Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Show and a Last Night of the Proms-style show with the London Gala Orchestra.

People can also bring along a picnic to have before the show starts. Gates open to the picnic area at 5.30pm.
