Jungle Book brought to the stage

A RUMBLE in the jungle with Baloo and Bagheera is being promised with the next production by Harborough group The Youth Theatre .

The award-winning group will be telling the story of Mowgli's exciting escapades in Rudyard Kipling's classic and best-loved story The Jungle Book.

A spokesman for the group said: "Come and join in this magical musical adventure and meet Mowgli (Matt Compton), the wicked tiger Shere Khan (Posy Sterling), the mesmerising snake Kaa (Beth Dillon), the wise old bear Baloo (Patrick Hancock) and, of course, the much-loved Bagheera (Matt Narciso)."

The show opens at Harborough's Welland Park Community College Theatre next Saturday, May 29, with a matinee at 3.30pm, and continues throughout the week with performances on Sunday, May 30, at 1pm and 4.30pm; on Wednesday, June 2, at 7.30pm; Thursday, June 3, at 7.30pm; Friday, June 4, at 7.30pm; and Saturday, June 5, at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

Due to the Bank Holiday weekend, there will be no shows on the Monday and Tuesday.

Tickets cost 10 (7 concessions, family tickets 27) and are available on the door or in advance from Harborough District Council's offices in Adam and Eve Street.
