A flaming good concert

ROCK, gospel, reggae and blues were enjoyed by an appreciative audience during a concert in Harborough.
The free event at Harborough Baptist Church saw Hearts on Fire take to the stage, supported by backing singers from the church’s congregation.
The evening featured a number of gospel, blues, rock, reggae, jazz and pop songs, played to an audience of about 200 people, who responded enthusiastically to the eclectic repertoire.
Highlights included a virtuoso keyboard display from Trevor Roach and a surprise appearance from minister Nick Cook, a former boy chorister of some note.
A collection on the night raised £357.55 for the Harborough Youth Cub project.

Organiser Dick Callan said: “We have been planning to put on a concert of this nature for some time and we were really pleased at the audience reaction to our music.
“People might associate church with more solemn music and whilst there is a place for this, we wanted to show that on this occasion the church was really rocking!”
The concert was held at the Coventry Road church on Saturday, January 21.
