On song for charities

GOOD causes have benefited thanks to a Harborough’s all-women’s choir.

The Songbirds’ concert last month raised £880 which was split between Epilepsy Action and Clic Sargent.

It was another sell-out performance with a variety of popular music performed by the 50-strong choir.

They have now started preparations for their summer concert taking place on July 6-7.

Maureen O’Malley, chairman of the group, said: “We had another fantastic concert at and everyone had a great time.

“The audience were appreciative and encouraged us every time we sang. At the concert one of our members did her first ever solo in public, a great achievement. We are now looking forward to two nights of performing at our summer concert”
