CELEBRATED poet Roger McGough is coming to the area this month.

He will be performing poems from, and signing copies of, his new collection, ‘As Far As I Know’ during the event at Uppingham School Hall on Thursday, November 29 at 7.30pm.

Hilarious and surreal, McGough is a poet of many voices - menace and melancholy there may be, but with plenty of his characteristic wit and wordplay.

Newly elected President of the Poetry Society, McGough has been honoured with a CBE for services to literature, and the Freedom of the City of Liverpool for good behaviour.

From Scaffold’s Lily The Pink and The Mersey Sound with Adrian Henri & Brian Patten to Radio 4’s long-running Poetry Please - the beat goes on.

Copies of As Far as I Know will be on sale, and McGough will be happy to sign copies afterwards.
