PLANS to move Lutterworth Library into a car showroom site in George Street in the town have been passed to planners at Leicestershire County Council for consideration.
Harborough District Council considered the proposals to site the town’s library in the Wycliffe Peugeot showroom in George Street after the plans were submitted in May.

However, the plans have now been passed back to the county council for final consideration before the move can be approved.

According to the county council, if approved, the new site would provide more space for books, DVDs and CDs and the new building would trial a self-service loan system.

Wycliffe Peugeot is moving to a new showroom in Rugby in August and says the change will not result in the loss of any jobs.
