TRADERS in Lutterworth are being reminded that they can purchase Christmas trees to place outside their shops and businesses to brighten up the town ready for the festive season.
A number of businesses, including Edmonds and Slatter opticians and Sol Hermoso beauty salon, both in High Street, have already ordered trees, but Lutterworth Town Council is hoping more firms will come forward.

Katy Butler, from the town council, said: “Traders have already been sent a letter telling them how to order the trees, but we are hoping to get more involved before the Christmas lights switch-on on Friday, November 28.”

Any shops or businesses interested in ordering a tree should contact the town council on 01455 550225.

l Marshals are still being sought to help at this year’s lights switch-on event in Lutterworth town centre.

Besides giving up a few hours of their time on the evening itself, volunteers will only be required to attend a short training session a few days before the event.

Anyone interested should contact 01455 550225.

l See next week’s Mail for a round-up of all the events happening at the switch-on evening.
