AN East Farndon couple celebrated their diamond wedding with a family party at their home.
Pat and John Gannon, of The Lealands, enjoyed a buffet lunch on November 10, their 60th anniversary, and were delighted with the new television that their children had bought them as a present.

The couple, who first met in Syston when Mrs Gannon was visiting her aunt and Mr Gannon was at his friend’s house across the road, are hoping to organise another celebration next year when Mr Gannon turns 90.

Mrs Gannon grew up in East Farndon and used to work as a home help in Leicester. Mr Gannon was a carpenter and joiner. They have three sons, a daughter, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
