The branch manager of a Market Harborough estate agency is getting on his bike to raise money for a deserving cause.
Kameron Hutchinson, from Harrison Murray’s office in 45 High Street, Harborough, will be in the cycling saddle on Thursday, September 12, to complete a 48-mile route from Northampton to Leicester.
He will be joined on the ride by colleagues from parent company The Nottingham Building Society and a Raleigh support team.
They will stop off in Harborough along the way for lunch at Joules Yard and to urge people to make donations outside its office.
Mr Hutchinson’s leg of the challenge is part of an overall 250-mile cycle ride around the East Midlands in aid of the Framework Housing Association.
There will be a total of seven people from Harrison Murray taking part and they will visit places such as Worksop, Retford, Brigg, Cleethorpes, Skegness, Grantham and Nottingham on their travels.
The event runs from September 9 to September 13.
Ahead of the ride, Harrison Murray and the society raised more than £60 for Framework through street collections and selling raffle tickets to win a £1,000 Raleigh bicycle. Mr Hutchinson also hopped on a static cycle outside the office on Friday morning, and was assisted by an eight ft tall Robin Hood mascot.
Last year, the society’s staff raised more than £80,00 with a similar cycle ride for Framework.
The firm, the country’s ninth largest building society, acquired East Midlands estate agents Harrison Murray in February this year.
The deal, for an undisclosed sum, included Harrison Murray’s lettings and mortgage broking businesses, and allowed Harrison Murray’s branches to keep their branding to become the largest independent estate agency in the East Midlands.
