A new manager has been welcomed on board at Market Harborough estate agents Cooper Estates.
Adrian McCarthy, who has recently been appointed at the town firm on The Square, has provided a seasonal market update.
Mr McCarthy has worked in the housing market for many years, firstly learning the trade in the Spa town of Cheltenham, where he originates from, before moving to Hertfordshire back in 2007 when the market was at its peak, selling property in the Home Counties and Radlett.
Three years ago he made the decision to move to the region for other work commitments, having most recently worked in Rutland and Stamford which has given him a wealth of knowledge and experience within the villages that border Market Harborough.
Mr McCarthy, who will report to director of the firm Richard Wright, said: “I am delighted to be part of the set-up within Cooper Estates and look forward to meeting new vendors and sharing my experience.”
Now that the summer is appearing to settle down and the darker mornings begin to creep in, he has given an overview on how Cooper Estates sees the market conditions improving over the course of the autumn months.
He said: “Naturally when the sun shines the market quietens as viewers are often out and about enjoying the barbecue weather or away at the weekends on short breaks.
“In August the children are on their summer holidays as well, so a normal quiet July and August has become more challenging this year. However, as always, we will start to see signs of improvement as this month progresses and the children start to gear up for a return to school.”
He feels it is better to sell in the autumn, rather than the traditional spring time.
“If you are considering selling your home it is advisable that the next two to three weeks is best time to have your property photographed in preparation to hit the market at the right time,” he added.
“I am pleased to report this has happened sooner this year with many market appraisals taking place and new instructions coming on board earlier than expected.”
The introduction of its discreet service has boosted stock levels, which is tailored to meet sellers’ needs rather than the traditional exposure to the market.
