A marketing expert has been appointed as the new chairman for Harborough’s Working Breakfast networking group.
Alastair Campbell, the managing director of Harborough firm the Ideal Marketing Company, is taking over the position for the next six months with immediate effect.
As one of the founding members of the group in Leicester, Mr Campbell helped to start up its sister group in Harborough in 2010.
The group meets at The Angel Hotel in High Street in Harborough at 7am every Wednesday morning. Each week members get the chance to give a one- minute presentation, asking for help for any aspect of their business.
Since its formation, it has resulted in more than 8,000 leads and has generated an estimated £650,000 worth of new business for the members.
Mr Campbell said: “It is a pleasure to take over from Chris Williams as the new chairperson who has done such a great job over the past six months.”
Chris runs wedding and corporate party firm, A Perfect Setting.
Alastair added: “Working Breakfast plays a vital role in supporting local businesses and causes.
“It is different to many breakfast clubs because it is entirely not-for-profit and is run and organised completely by its members, for its members.”
It has 20 active members who attend every week.
Working Breakfast Harborough was formed by district business owners in 2010 with the purpose of passing new business leads.
Any proceeds generated fund Harborough projects to support start-up firms, charities and further networking events.
It welcomes new members and the first visit is free, which includes a cooked breakfast.
