Business chief visits town Enterprise Centre

THE DIRECTOR of the UK’s leading business organisation paid a visit to Lutterworth College’s Enterprise Centre.
Lucy Haynes from the Confederation of British Industry spoke to students during the visit to the vocational centre.
She then joined members of Lutterworth’s Rotary Club, where she was the guest speaker at a lunch.
The Enterprise Centre – which offers a more hands-on approach to learning – has gone from strength-to-strength since it was opened in 2004.
It received help in its foundation from a donation by the Rotary Club following an appeal organised by its late president David Mountford.
Mrs Haynes was shown around the centre and later spoke to Rotary members about the work of the confederation.
Formed in 1965, it now represents 240,000 businesses – about a third of the private sector workforce in the country.
The confederation works to promote business interests by lobbying and advising governments, networking with other businesses and analysing economic statistics.
