An independent estate agency in Harborough has scooped a regional accolade at the Estate and Letting Agent of The Year Awards.

Staff from Adams & Jones were proud to receive a bronze award in the Single Office Estate Agency category for the East Midlands.

The ceremony took place at The Hilton hotel in Park Lane, London, and the Harborough company’s representatives collected their award from TV property guru Phil Spencer.

Paul Adams, director of the St Mary’s Road company, said: “We were particularly proud of this achievement at The Estate Agent of The Year Awards or the ‘ESTAs’, as they are more commonly known, as they are judged purely on customer satisfaction feedback.”

The awards were announced by the Location, Location, Location star Spencer during a lavish luncheon and ceremony attended by 700 of the UK’s estate and letting agents and suppliers to the industry.

The awards, now in their 11th year, use research carried out among customers as the basis for their determinations.

Customers were asked a series of questions about the service they received with 32,000 questionnaires completed during the course of the year.

Mr Adams added: “We are absolutely thrilled to be recognised at this year’s ESTAS.

“It means so much to us as we know it’s our customers who have judged our performance.

“We take our levels of customer service very seriously because we know clients have a choice.

“We have always been very proud of the personal service we provide and this is a great way to demonstrate how good we really are.”

Spencer, who has hosted the ESTAS since its inception in 2004, said afterwards: “The ESTAS are about making people happy, putting a smile on their face and making a genuine difference to people’s lives.

“An agent’s role is about guiding people through one of the most stressful times in their lives and that’s not an easy job.”

Agents were shortlisted in 18 regions across the UK.

Simon Brown, who founded the awards, said: “Winning one of these gleaming ESTAS proves that your companies can be trusted.

“In fact, just taking part shows a commitment to customers and to be shortlisted means you already have the trust factor.”

Alex Chesterman, founder and chief executive of headline sponsors Zoopla, said: “We were delighted to once again support this key industry event.

“The ability to collect and act on customer feedback is essential to the success of any business and rewarding those who provide the best service in the industry, as these awards do, is perfectly aligned with our business.

“We congratulate all those shortlisted this year.”

The awards are organised by Awards for Business Ltd.

Adams & Jones was founded in Harborough in 2000.
