Tourist facilities at Foxton Locks just missed out during a county awards night.

Foxton Locks Lodges was a finalist in the Self-Catering Holiday Provider of the Year award at the Leicester and Leicestershire

Excellence in Tourism Awards.

Foxton Canal Museum was also in the final of the Small Visitor Attraction of the Year category in the same award.

The third annual awards event was hosted by LeicesterShire Promotions.

Winning attractions included Leicester’s Curve theatre, the Ride Leicester festival, and Charnwood Museum.

Martin Peters, Chief Executive of Leicester Shire Promotions, said: “We’re delighted to announce the winners of this year’s awards and congratulate them all on their success.

“The competition was very strong this year and the diverse range of applicants, finalists and winners demonstrates how much there is on offer for visitors to Leicester and Leicestershire.”
