A CHARITY band backed by Oscar-winning actress Emma Thompson which raises awareness of human trafficking through its music is to appear in Naseby.
Some of the main performers from Just Enough for the Real World will play the Royal Oak pub in the village on Saturday, November 26, at 8pm.
The London-based charity band was set up in 2009 by tireless campaigner Phil Knight and his team to raise awareness of the traditionally taboo subject of human trafficking.
They released a charity album – also called Just Enough for the Real World – earlier this year in aid of the Helen Bamber Foundation, of which Emma Thompson is chairman.
The gig in Naseby will see the band perform all 12 tracks from the album, which attracted the attention of the world’s media on its release.
They agreed to perform after being asked by pub landlady and fan Nicola Nicholls.
She said: “It’s going to be a great night and while the music is undoubtedly fun and upbeat, the underlying subject matter is hugely important and I’m thrilled that they’ve agreed to perform for us. But please note this is a free event, so come early if you require tables!”
