The event took place in March and saw almost 200 swimmers in teams completing sponsored lengths of the pool at Harborough Leisure Centre.

Rotarian Gordon Etherington, Chair of the SwiMarathon Committee, said “We are particularly pleased that we are able to offer money to local good causes, following this great event which so many swimmers really enjoyed.”

People are invited to apply for a grant for their worthy cause by sending the following details: Name of organisation (this is the name put on the cheque of successful applicants); name of the person applying on behalf of the organisation; contact address, phone and email; the organisation’s local connection and what it does; as much detail as possible about why they want a grant and who and how many people will it benefit.

Mr Etherington added: “Please make sure you address all of the above points, as full information is important for the Grant Panel to properly assess your application.”

The maximum grant awarded will be £500.

Applications should be emailed to [email protected] or posted to Chris Etherington, Rotary Club of Market Harborough. LE16 9DA.

The closing date for applications is May 6.

Successful applicants will be informed in May of the outcome of their application. The grants will be presented at a presentation evening at Robert Smyth School, on June 16.
