Arrests made after drugs raid in Brixworth

A man and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of the cultivation of cannabis.

The arrests were made following the execution of a warrant this morning (Friday) at a property in Broadlands, Brixworth.

Between 40 and 50 cannabis plants were seized and a 39-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis.

Sgt Carol Fullerton, from Daventry Proactive Team, said: “We won’t tolerate drugs offences within our communities and are cracking down on those that commit them.

“I’d urge people to contact us if they see anything suspicious in their neighborhood - for example windows always covered, a pungent smell or a vent protruding from the roof or rear window can indicate that cannabis is being grown.”
