Further details emerge over robbery as taxi driver describes how he was strangled with scarf

A taxi driver who was robbed by three of his passengers has spoken out about his ordeal.
The cabbie was robbed in Harborough on January 23 at about 1.45am as he pulled up to drop the passengers off at the entrance to Symington’s Recreation Ground in St Mary’s Road.
The father-of-one said last week that during the ordeal one passenger strangled him with a scarf before the two others stole his takings.
He said the incident has left him frightened of strangers. The victim picked up the three passengers, two men and one women, in Millwood Close, Mowmacre, Leicester.
He has only been working as a taxi driver for two months at the Leicester taxi firm and said it is important that the three people are caught as he fears they will do it again.
The taxi driver, who did not want to be identified, believes the attackers were on drugs.
If you have any information about the robbery, contact Det Con Jessica Rippington on the 101 police hotline.
