Man on burglary and shoplifting charge

A MAN has been charged with burgling a home in Broughton Astley as well as stealing from a shop in Lutterworth.

The charge stems from an alleged break-in at a home in Coventry troad in the village on January 29, in which a wallet containing £60 was stolen.

The 31-year-old man is also charged with stealing alcohol worth £24 from a Lutterworth shop on January 11 and, on Janaury 24, making off with £76.11 of diesel from a garage in Groby Road, Leicester, without paying.

He is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court on March 20, Leicestershire police said today (Tuesday).
