Preschool children from Little Angels Day Nursery visited the Congregational Church in Harborough for a Harvest Festival celebration.
In the week running up to their visit to the church earlier this month, the children and their families brought in tinned and dried food items for the Food Bank. More than 80 items were donated.
Carmen Haughton, of Little Angels Day Nursery, said: “During the celebration service, Reverend Sue Nockels spoke to the children about harvest time and how the food donations would help the people of Market Harborough who are less fortunate than themselves.
“This was followed by giving thanks to God for our food by singing a song and saying a little prayer.”
Once the service was over the children then had a chance to make harvest baskets out of paper plates, paint and pictures of fruit and vegetables.
Carmen said: “Fun was had by all and the staff and children at Little Angels would like to say a huge thank you to Reverend Sue Nockels for her time and to all the families who kindly donated food.”
