£4m new hospital given the go-ahead

A NEW £4m hospital for Harborough was granted planning permission last night (Tuesday).

The facility will be built on the St Luke’s site in Leicester Road, Harborough.

It will comprise a three-storey building situated in front of the present hospital, with the two buildings linked via a corridor.

Services offered at the new combined hospital will include a GP practice, minor injuries unit, phlebotomy (bloods), radiology, physiotherapy, audiology (hearing) services, mental health and out-patients department, and bases for community nursing and patient transport.

The plans were given the green light by Harborough District Council’s planning committee last night.
