A new £2,000 library is encouraging children to read at Havelock Junior School.

The library was designed by head of Year 4 Victoria Wallis, fitted by her husband Michael and paid for by the PTA.

The library has beds and sofas as well as picnic tables.

Mrs Wallis said the environment is encouraging children to read who might not usually do so.

Author Taffy Thomas visited the library earlier this month.
