Club hosts family fun night

AN EVENING of music and dancing was enjoyed by hundreds of people at Lutterworth Cricket Club on Friday.

About 600 people attended the Party on the Pitch, organised by the club to help raise money for its youth teams.

The evening featured music from two bands, The Booze Brothers and Critical Junction, as well as a huge hog roast and barbecue and a Pimm’s bar for the adults.

There were also a few impromptu games of cricket enjoyed by youngsters on the outfield as the evening wore on.

Steve Masic, club member and one of the team helping the main organisers, said: “It was a really great evening.

“There was a bit of a rain storm in the afternoon which may have put a few people off but it was still really well attended.

“Everyone really seemed to enjoy themselves, especially the kids, who had a great time running around and playing games.

“It was a good club event as well because a lot of the first team players who aren’t involved with the youth teams, came along to support it and help out.”

Organisers say they have not yet confirmed the final total raised on the evening.

This was the second consecutive year that the club has arranged such an event.
