Coach House office plan is given the green light

AN HISTORIC building in a quiet street near Lutterworth town centre looks set to get a new lease of life after plans to transform it into a two-storey office were given the nod.

Applicants Churchover Holdings were given planning permission to convert the Coach House, in Misterton Way, into the office development by Harborough District Council’s planning committee last Tuesday – despite concerns over increasing traffic into Misterton Way.

Speaking at that meeting, Rod Hickmott, who said he was the owner of the site, said he had submitted plans to convert the building into two four-bedroom homes in 2004, but had decided it was not the right sort of application for the site.

He added: “I live and work in Lutterworth so I have got a lot of heart for the town.

“I approached Harborough District Council with the option of converting the site into starter homes or starter offices. In architectural terms, it is quite an interesting site.”

Leicestershire County Council’s highways department had recommended the plans be refused because of the narrow access into Misterton Way from High Street, however the planning committee gave the scheme the green light.
