Improvements for deteriorated paths

Potholes along the canal towpath between Foxton village and Foxton Locks are being repaired by volunteers this weekend.

Members of the Canal and River Trust, which is now responsible for the Harborough district’s waterways, are holding the volunteer work party event between 10am and 3.30pm on Saturday.

The towpath has badly deteriorated since its last major upgrade – some 20 years ago.

Members of the Old Union Canals Society and Foxton Explorer Scouts will be taking part and new volunteers would be welcomed.
