Langton import travels to Belgium

A BARREL of beer was the guest of honour at a gala function attended by members of a Harborough fundraising group in Belgium earlier this month.

Members of Harborough Round Table visited their twin group in Halle and enjoyed a function at Beersel Castle near Brussels.

The group took a keg of beer from the Langton Brewery on their trip to present to their Belgian cousins.

Dave Berridge, of Harborough Round Table, said: "Our hosts were a little suspicious at first as they couldn't work out how you could have beer without a CO2 cylinder and a chiller, but after a taste they were hooked."

The twinning between Market Harborough and Halle is the longest-running twinning in the Round Table and has been active for over 50 years.

Harborough Round Table meets on the first and third Thursday of each month mostly at the Angel Hotel in Harborough. The group is open to men between the ages of 18 and 45 and is a great way to meet friends, try new activities and have fun while putting something back into the community.
