Magazines firm making job cuts

ONE of Harborough’s biggest employers is to make 13 people redundant.

CDS Global, formerly known as Tower Publishing, made the announcement to staff last week.

The firm, at Sovereign Park off Lathkill Street, manages subscriptions on behalf of clients in the magazine and publishing world such as Elle, Cosmopolitan and Tatler.

A spokesman for CDS said the company was saddened at having to lose 13 of its staff but that the job losses would put it in a better position to compete in the market and offer a better service to customers. She said the action was due to the “current economic climate”.

The job cuts are affecting the client services department.

There are no plans to make any other staff redundant at the company, the spokesman added.
