Meeting up for "green" drinks

GREEN-minded Harborough people will be meeting for a networking session tonight (Wednesday) as part of the first-ever Greenb Drinks event.

Market Harborough Green Drinks is invitinf people to its first meeting in the bar of the Angel Hotel, in High Street, from 7pm.

Darren Woodiwiss, organiser, said: "It is a chance to mingle and chat, with no agenda, to other people who either work in or volunteer to improve our environment.

"Every month people who work in the environmental field will meet up at informal sessions known as Green Drinks.

"We have a lively mixture of people from NGOs, academia, government and business. Come along and you'll be made welcome.

"Just say, 'are you green?' and we will look after you and introduce you to whoever is there.

"It's a great way of catching up with people you know and also for making new contacts. Everyone invites someone else along, so there's always a different crowd, making Green Drinks an organic, self-organising network.

"It is appreciated that not all of the people involved in environmental roles that impact Harborough are based in Harborough but we hope that you will be able to find the time to come and have a chat."
