MUMS whose babies spent weeks in the care of specialists after being born prematurely are fundraising for the neonatal unit which helped save their lives.

When baby Oscar was delivered three months early weighing less than a bag of sugar his parents Chloe White (24) and Adam Wells (27) were told he had just a 30 per cent chance of survival.

Caryss Morrison-Wynne (25) and her partner Luke McInnes (27) went through similar anguish with their daughter Ffion McInnes, who was born eight weeks early and spent the first five weeks of her life in hospital.

Now the Harborough mums, who were brought together by their ordeals, want to give something back to the unit which helped their babies beat the odds.

The pair are holding a table top sale at the Congregational Hall in Bowden Lane from 11.30am-4pm on Saturday in aid of the Neonatal Unit at Leicester Royal Infirmary (LRI) and Rainbow’s Children’s Hospice.

Chloe and Caryss - who have become firm friends since being introduced through their health visitor - wrote to the Mail in detail to tell us their stories. Here they are in full:
