Opticians’ balloon race in aid of air ambulance

An optician’s is encouraging customers to help make the skies of Harborough a little brighter by purchasing a £1 balloon race ticket with a host of prizes up for grabs.

Specsavers, in St Mary’s Place, is hosting an Around the World-themed balloon race with the balloons being released at 5.30pm on Saturday, March 9.

Customers can buy race tickets by popping into thestore, with all proceeds going to the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance.

On the day staff will be dressed in their best adventurer outfits from Dora the Explorer and Phileas Fogg, to Where’s Wally and Maverick from Top Gun.

Prizes for balloons which travel furthest include a pair of designer specs, £100 of treatment at Sheeda’s Beauty Clinic, hair cut and colour at Toni and Guy, a wireless Bluetooth headset from O2, Costa Coffee luxury coffee hamper and a selection of Thornton’s chocolates.
