THE WEEKEND snowfall caused disruption to many travel plans yesterday - but not for this man.

Dentist Ed Moncrief took the opportunity to enjoy a cross country ski trek all the way through Market Harborough to Great Bowden.

He said he was glad to get on the skis for the first time this winter and added: “I couldn’t believe how good the snow was, it felt like skiing through a village in the Alps.”

The Mail also received these pictures of a snow girl and polar bear, made by Mike Eason and Michelle and Georgia Cook, of Simborough Way, Harborough.

Laura Heaps was out walking in Little Bowden Rec when she saw an impressive dragon sculpture.

She said: “I love that folk don’t just go for the usual snowmen - somebody in Harborough has real snow sculpting talent!”

Meanwhile James Voyce took a photo of sheep grazing in Laughton.

He said: “They didn’t seem to be too put off by the six inches of snow around them. They just kept on grazing in the field and getting on with life. If only Britain’s transport could do the same.”

And two-year-old Jasmine Grace LeBoutillier is also pictured with her first ever snowman. Well done Jasmine, very impressive!
