Travellers in Commons Car Park have moved on

Travellers who arrived on the Commons Car Park in Harborough on Tuesday evening moved on elsewhere last night.

The site had been visited by Leicestershire Police and officers of the Leicestershire Multi Agency Unit yesterday to assess the situation and to determine what to do next.

The travellers left last night without formal intervention from Harborough District Council and the car park is now being used again.

A spokesman for the council said that the site has been left in a tidy condition although an inspection will take place today to ensure any rubbish has been removed.
