A GROUP will be offering mums and tots more time to play thanks to a £500 donation from a club for older people.

The Medbourne Autumn Club donated the money to the Medbourne Playgroup last month.

From this month the playgroup will be opening for longer hours and the donation from the club has helped make this possible.

The Autumn Club arranges social occasions such as outings and coffee mornings.

It raises money for charities and helps the less able in the community.

The money given to Medbourne Playgroup was raised at a bazaar which took last year.

Medbourne Playgroup has been running for 30 years and offers a friendly environment for pre-school children. It is run by Sara Robbins and Celia Pocock.

Sara said the donation means the group will now be able to open for 14 hours. It was previously operating for nine hours a week.

She thanked the Autumn Club for its generosity.

The group runs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
