Mail columnists: The Baby Harborian’s first words!
The Mail's tiniest columnist, The Baby Harborian.
Being a toddler in Harborough is tough..
Sure, you’d reckon it’d be easier – eating, sleeping, getting waited on hand-and-foot, wearing blankets and zip-up booties I public; right?
Only the very young and very old get away with such lavish treatment!
Wrong.
Do you remember being two-foot tall?! You’re at eye-contact level with car bumpers, dogs, dustbins and letter boxes.
You have to put up with countless “oooh, haven’t you grown”s (yes, thank you – that’s the general idea!) and “he’s got his mother’s nose” (I certainly hope not – it looks like she’s done three rounds with one of the Klitschkos!); not to mention unwelcome cheek-pinches, and toe-stealing.
But that goes for kids everywhere. So what makes Harborough any different? Well, that’s what I’m here to tell you. In my column – The Baby Harborian – I’ll give you an insight into what it’s really like for one of the junior rank-and-file growing up in our fair (eh-hum) town; drawing on personal experience to explain to you all why it’s not all it’s quite cracked up to be.
