A restaurant which was damaged by a fire on Sunday is set to open at a temporary site in town while its premises undergo repairs and restoration.

Ascough’s will open shop at the premises formerly known as Timo in St Mary’s Road on February 11.

The name will stay the same, the menu will be the same and all prior contact details will stand, but it will be operating at the site in St Mary’s Road for up to eight weeks.

Chris Ascough, owner of Ascough’s restaurant estimated the damage to the restaurant in High Street as around about £50,000 when taking into account smoke damage and damage to refrigeration and stock.
