Kettles will boil in unison across the Harborough
district later this month for the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event.
The 23rd annual charity event is taking place on and around Friday, September 27, to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
It is always strongly supported by community groups, school and businesses in the Harborough area and the Mail is inviting people to let us know about your brewing efforts to feature in our preview round-up next Thursday.
Some groups have already been in touch. They include Doris Buckle, from Glooston, who holds an annual event at Glooston Village Hall.
Macmillan phoned her recently to tell Doris she has now raised more than £10,000 for the cause in the 12 or so years she has been running events.
Her coffee morning this year will be at the village hall on Saturday, September 28, from 10am to midday where there will also be cakes, a tombola and raffle.
Claybrooke Village Hall will host an event from 9am to midday on the Friday, while Pauline Dawes will again be opening her home in Saddington Road, Mowsley, on the Saturday from 10.30am.
The Nature’s Purest shop at 29 High Street, Kibworth, will host an event on the Friday morning and Kibworth-based Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital is organising one on the Saturday at Kibworth Village Hall from 10am to 1pm.
Macmillan provides practical, medical, emotional and financial support for those affected by cancer and their families.
