Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward

 

A 50-year-old cyclist was left with serious injuries following a road traffic collision last night.

The collision took place at 8.30pm on the A427 between Harborough and Dingley.

A black Nissan Almera being driven by a 70-year-old woman overtook a HGV and was then, for reasons yet unknown, in collision with the cyclist.

The cyclist was taken to University Hospital Coventry with serious injuries.
